Thiswell-ventilated, late-ripening site and its soil are conducive? at least on theevidence at hand ? to remarkable richnessyet striking minerality.A nose-wrinkling medicinal meld of herbalconcentrates, iodine, tart black fruits and ocean breeze leadsto ripe black raspberry and cherry, marrow and meat-stock mingleon a strikingly creamypalate, tinged with chalk, iodine and wetstone. This really sticks to the gums with memorable depth of fruitand a mineral complexity such as I have never before encountered fromthe Hautes Cotes. It represents an excellent value.
